PRiS is a community based Internet provider that is focused on ensuring that all Peace Country residents gain affordable access to the latest Internet connectivity, using wired and wireless technologies. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to expand our support team.  This should be regarded as a long-term career opportunity.

 

CLIENT I.T. SUPPORT STAFF

The persons we hire will divide their time between offering connectivity support to subscribers, and managing the PRiS network. We are striving to expand our network to include all the unconnected rural areas of the Peace.

 

The person we hire will enjoy offering connectivity support to subscribers. This will require taking a personal interest in resolving member-initiated requests for assistance, and will require a strong familiarity with networks including wired, wireless, and fibre components, as well as with Linux based servers. He/she will also take pleasure in finding solutions to digital communications challenges for prospective new subscribers .

Ideally, our candidate will have post-secondary training in the computer technology field, and experience in providing technical support. A knowledge of data networking, fixed wireless data communications and web page design will be a strong asset, as well a working knowledge of C++ and Perl on UNIX /Linux systems.

 You should be physically fit, have reliable transportation, and be prepared to undertake on-site visits with occasional outdoor work.

We will give consideration to candidates lacking specific technical competencies if they can show they are fast learners. Above all, they must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and an exceptional ability to build positive working relationships with our clients.
