While competing technologies such as ADSL and Cable may meet the needs of people within urban centers, true broadband internet can only be delivered to rural residents via wireless radio. PRiS provides high speed service in many areas surrounding Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd and Hudson's Hope. We are constantly seeking to expand our wireless coverage. Don't forget Dial-up is always available to you at no extra cost. With Wireless Internet you do need Line-of-Sight to one of our towers. This means you need to be able to see the tower with no leaves, trees, or buildings in the way. For more information on Line-of-Sight and pictures of the towers, please see Area Coverage . Wireless Internet access is a community resource that is shared by all
subscribers to the service. The connection is fast, but a small number
of 'bandwidth hogs' could adversely affect the quality of connectivity
of their neighbours. Read about how PRiS manages and allocates bandwidth equitably here. Professional installation is available and usually costs approx. $200.00 depending on your location. Many members do their own installation under the expert guidance of PRiS technical staff.
Pricing with leased equipment begins at $40.00/month.
